Dear FIELD Students and Friends –

From the entire FIELD family, we want to wish each of you a Happy New Year, full of family, health and prosperity. However, it looks like 2025 is getting off to a difficult start. The wildfires over the past week have ravaged many of our sisters and brothers in the Los Angeles area. And now, closer to home, we are hearing that ICE is beginning to step up raids in our community. In response, we at FIELD have put together some resource lists to help you navigate these difficult times.

Remember, in California, ICE (the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency) is generally not allowed on PRIVATE property, including your home, without a valid warrant signed by a judge and without your consent. Do not open the door, answer any questions or sign anything without first speaking to a lawyer. FEMA Assistance

Apply for federal assistance online at DisasterAssistance.gov or call the helpline at 1-800-621-3362. FEMA also runs Disaster Recover Centers, where they offer information and assistance to learn more about FEMA and other disaster assistance programs.
