FIELD Opens Helen Chavez Early Childhood Education Center in Tehachapi
By Christopher Blood
FIELD unveiled its brand-new Helen Chavez Early Childhood Education Center in Tehachapi on Wednesday, April 26.
The turnout was excellent and included FIELD leadership, Tehachapi ECE Center teachers and staff, parents and children, elected officials and Chamber of Commerce members.
Community members and local children officially opened the Center with the cutting of a giant gold ribbon.

It’s clear the new Center is a much-needed resource for the community as it currently has only a few open spots left (due to licensing requirements and FIELD’s strict adherence to best safety practices and procedures).
This wonderful new Helen Chavez Early Childhood Education Center further advances FIELD’s efforts to remove childcare barriers from underserved communities and will be an excellent resource for working parents in the greater Tehachapi area.
I recently visited the Center, and the children were lively and active. They are receiving an excellent education while also having fun and learning to form friendships, trust others more and prepare for their soon-to-be kindergarten through high school educational journeys. What a great resource for the community!
