FIELD Gains Name Recognition, Momentum Going Into Graduation Season

It’s been a little more than three weeks since our wildly successful 8th Annual Chavez Legacy Breakfast and we’re still floating on Cloud 9. This year we had a record sold-out crowd of 600-plus attendees filling the ballroom to the brim with joy, love and hope for the future. We’re already talking about needing a larger space for next year!

I can’t thank the community enough for turning out to support us and our important work in lifting up the unempowered in our communities – teaching them life and job skills that will change the trajectory of their lives. We raised a record $90,000 this fundraising cycle, dollars that will be put to good use housing a select group of our unhoused Chavez Environmental Corp student. You are giving our students and corpsmembers hope for a better life and a piece of the American dream.

We also had terrific exposure about our work in the local media – with TV, Radio and print all there to cover the event. So thank you to all. Andele on to bigger and better events, and outcomes in the coming year. FIELD is growing thanks to you.

We’re excited about our upcoming graduations, and showing off all our student success stories. Stay tuned for graduation news and dates.

In other news, I took our good work to Washington, DC to the Nat’l Park Service to discuss how our incredible Chavez Environmental Corp can help serve the federal government’s vision of a great outdoors that every American resodemt can enjoy, regardless of income, immigration papers, or socio-economic status. We met with xxx and xxx, to discuss various outdoor reclamation projects, and how our team could help.

We also took our Corpsmembers to Sacramento to discuss all the wildland reclamation projects our teams have done and continue to do. The need in California to rebuild our great outdoors in great. Wildfires, floods, and other natural disasters decimate our great outdoors. All Californians should be able to hike, camp and enjoy the great outdoors. FIELD can help realize this vision.

So thank you again for your generosity, and helping us all realize Cesar’s vision for Empowering the Unempowered. It’s the American dream this country was founded on. Justice for all!

Si se puede!
